Admin Login

What This Page Does

This is the login page for your ComusThumbz admin panel. You need to enter your admin password here to access all the tools for managing your site. It is the first thing you see when you go to your admin area.

How to Get Here

Open your web browser and go to your admin address. This is typically your site's web address followed by /ct/admin/.

For example: https://yoursite.com/ct/admin/

Note: If you are already logged in, this page will skip straight to your admin dashboard. You do not need to log in again.

Understanding the Page

When you open the login page, you will see a clean, simple screen with a few key areas.

Logo and Branding

At the top of the page, you will see the ComusThumbz logo and tagline. This confirms you are on the correct page.

Login Form

In the center of the page is a white card with the login form. It contains:

  • A Password field where you type your admin password
  • A Sign In button to submit your password

The password field is automatically selected when the page loads, so you can start typing right away.

Version Number

At the bottom of the login card, you will see the version number of your ComusThumbz software. This is helpful if you ever need to check which version you are running.

A simple copyright line appears at the very bottom of the page.

How to Handle a Wrong Password

If you enter the wrong password, an error message will appear on the login page.

  1. Read the error message carefully. It will tell you how many attempts you have left.
  2. Double-check that you are typing the correct password.
  3. Make sure your Caps Lock key is not turned on.
  4. Try again with the correct password.
Warning: After 5 wrong attempts within 15 minutes, you will be temporarily locked out. Take your time and type carefully.

How to Recover from a Lockout

If you have been locked out after too many wrong password attempts, you have two options.

Option 1: Wait it out

  • The lockout lasts 15 minutes.
  • The error message on the page will show you how much time is left.
  • Once the timer expires, you can try logging in again.

Option 2: Contact your developer or hosting provider

  • If you cannot wait or have forgotten your password entirely, contact the person who set up your site.
  • They can reset the lockout and your password for you.
Tip: Write down your admin password and keep it in a safe place. A password manager is a great option for this.

How to Change Your Admin Password

You cannot change your password from the login page itself. To update your password:

  1. Log in to your admin panel.
  2. Go to Admin Panel > Settings.
  3. Look for the password or security settings.
  4. Enter your new password and save.

If you are locked out and cannot remember your password at all, contact your developer or hosting provider. They can reset it for you.

Tips for New Users

Tip:
  • Bookmark your login page so you can find it easily every time.
  • Use a strong password with at least 12 characters, mixing uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.
  • Do not share your admin password with anyone who does not need access to manage the site.
  • Always use a secure connection (HTTPS) when logging in. You should see a padlock icon in your browser's address bar.
  • Close your browser when you are done working in the admin panel, especially on shared computers. This logs you out automatically.

Troubleshooting

I typed my password but nothing happens

What you see: You click Sign In but the page does not respond or just reloads.

How to fix it:

  1. Make sure you have a working internet connection.
  2. Try refreshing the page and logging in again.
  3. Clear your browser's cookies and cache, then try again.
  4. Try a different web browser to see if the problem persists.
  5. If none of these work, contact your developer or hosting provider.

I see "Invalid password" but I am sure my password is correct

What you see: The page shows an error saying the password is wrong, even though you believe it is correct.

How to fix it:

  1. Check that your Caps Lock key is not turned on.
  2. Make sure there are no extra spaces before or after your password.
  3. Try typing the password in a text editor first to see exactly what you are typing, then copy and paste it into the password field.
  4. If you still cannot get in, contact your developer to reset your password.

I am locked out and see a countdown timer

What you see: The page says you have made too many failed attempts and shows a waiting period.

How to fix it:

  1. Wait for the timer to finish. It will be no longer than 15 minutes.
  2. Once the time is up, refresh the page and try logging in again.
  3. If you have forgotten your password, contact your developer or hosting provider for a reset.

The login page looks broken or icons are missing

What you see: The page loads but some icons or fonts are missing, or the layout looks off.

How to fix it:

  1. Check your internet connection. The page loads some design elements from external sources.
  2. Try refreshing the page.
  3. Try a different web browser.
  4. If the problem continues, the page still works normally. You can enter your password and log in even if some visual elements are missing.
