Crop Model Image

What This Page Does

This page lets you crop and resize a profile image for a model or performer on your site. You select the area of the image you want to keep, and a live preview shows you exactly how the final result will look. The cropped image is then saved as the model's profile picture and appears on your site right away.

How to Get Here

You typically arrive at this page through one of these paths:

  • Admin Panel > Models > AI Image Selector -- After you search for and select an image, you are taken here to crop it.
  • Admin Panel > Models > AI Batch Image Selector -- When processing multiple models at once, this page opens in a popup window for each model.

Note: You do not usually need to navigate to this page on your own. It opens automatically after you choose an image for a model.

Understanding the Page

When the page loads, you see the image you selected along with tools to crop it.

Header

The top of the page shows the title "Crop Model Image" along with the model's name so you can confirm you are editing the correct performer.

Action Buttons

Just below the header, you will find three buttons:

Button What It Does
SAVE IMAGE Saves your cropped image and updates the model's profile
RESET Moves the crop selection back to its original centered position
CANCEL Leaves the page without saving any changes

Source Image (Left Side)

The main area on the left displays the original image. A green-bordered box sits on top of the image -- this is your crop selection. Everything inside the green box is what will be saved as the model's profile picture. The area outside the box appears slightly dimmed so you can clearly see what you are keeping.

Live Preview (Right Side)

The right sidebar shows a real-time preview of your cropped image at the exact size it will appear on your site. As you move or resize the crop selection, the preview updates instantly. Below the preview, you will see the target image size and a short set of instructions.

Common Tasks

How to Crop a Model's Image

This is the main task you will perform on this page. Follow these steps to select the best part of the image for the model's profile.

  1. Look at the source image on the left side of the page. The green box shows the current crop area.
  2. Position the crop selection over the area you want to keep (see moving and resizing instructions below).
  3. Check the Live Preview on the right to make sure the result looks good.
  4. Click SAVE IMAGE when you are happy with the selection.
  5. Wait a moment while the image is saved. You will see a brief loading screen.
  6. The page automatically returns you to where you came from once the save is complete.

Success: After saving, the new image appears on your site immediately -- on both the model directory page and the individual model profile page.

How to Move the Crop Selection

  1. Place your mouse cursor inside the green selection box.
  2. Click and hold the mouse button.
  3. Drag the box to the area of the image you want to keep.
  4. Release the mouse button to set the position.

Tip: Keep the model's face centered in the selection for the most professional-looking result.

How to Resize the Crop Selection

  1. Click anywhere on the source image outside the green selection box.
  2. Hold the mouse button and drag to create a new selection area.
  3. Release the mouse button when the selection is the size you want.

Note: The crop selection always keeps the correct shape for model profile images. You cannot stretch it into an odd shape -- it automatically maintains the right proportions.

How to Save Quickly with Double-Click

If you want to save without reaching for the SAVE IMAGE button:

  1. Position the crop selection where you want it.
  2. Double-click inside the green selection box.
  3. The image saves automatically.

How to Start Over

If you are not happy with your selection and want to go back to the default position:

  1. Click the RESET button.
  2. The green selection box moves back to the center of the image.
  3. Adjust the selection again from the new starting point.

How to Cancel Without Saving

If you decide not to crop this image:

  1. Click the CANCEL button.
  2. You are returned to the previous page without any changes being made.

Note: Cancelling does not affect the model's current profile image. Their existing image stays unchanged.

Tips for New Users

Tip:
  • Always check the Live Preview before saving. It shows exactly how the image will look on your site.
  • For the best results, try to include the model's face and upper body in the crop area.
  • If the source image does not look right or loads incorrectly, go back to the image selector and choose a different image.
  • When working through a batch of models, the crop page opens as a popup. After you save, the popup closes automatically and the batch page updates.

Troubleshooting

The image does not load on the page

What you see: The cropper page opens but the source image area is blank or shows an error message.

How to fix it:

  1. Go back to the image selector and try choosing the image again.
  2. If the problem continues, the original image may no longer be available online. Select a different image instead.

The preview is not updating as I move the selection

What you see: You are dragging the crop box but the preview on the right side is not changing.

How to fix it:

  1. Wait a moment for the source image to fully load. The preview only works once the image is ready.
  2. Try refreshing the page in your browser and starting over.

I see a "Failed to save image" error

What you see: After clicking SAVE IMAGE, an error message appears instead of a success confirmation.

How to fix it:

  1. Try clicking SAVE IMAGE again. The issue may have been temporary.
  2. If the error continues, contact your site administrator or hosting provider. There may be a storage issue on the server.

The saved image looks stretched or distorted

What you see: The model's profile image on your site does not look right after cropping.

How to fix it:

  1. Return to the model's profile in the admin panel and select a new image.
  2. When cropping, make sure the preview on the right side looks correct before saving.

Warning: If model images across your site look inconsistent in size, your image dimensions setting may have been changed after some images were already cropped. Contact your site administrator to check the configuration.
