User Details

What This Page Does

The User Details page is your control center for managing individual user accounts. Here you can view and edit everything about a user: their profile information, verify their identity, manage their creator status, control what features they can access, see their login history, adjust their privacy settings, and more.

Think of this as the complete file for each person who has an account on your site.

How to Get Here

Navigate to Admin Panel > Users > User Management

In the user list, click on any username to open their details page.

Understanding the Page

When you first open a user's details page, you'll see:

User Header

At the top is a card showing the user's basic information:

  • Avatar - A circular icon with their first initial
  • Username and Email - Their account identifier
  • Status Badges - Color-coded labels showing their account status, account type, verification status, and more
  • Quick Stats - When they registered, last login, location
  • Quick Action Buttons - Common tasks like changing their status or account type

Tab Navigation

Below the header, the page is organized into 8 tabs. Each tab handles a different aspect of the user's account:

  1. Profile - Edit their display name, location, bio, and preferences
  2. Verification - Review identity documents, manage creator applications
  3. Features - Override which features this user can access
  4. Sessions - See where they're logged in and force logout if needed
  5. Login History - See all their login attempts
  6. Admin Logs - See what changes admins have made to this account
  7. Email Preferences - Control what email notifications they receive
  8. Privacy - Manage who can see their content and profile

Click any tab to view and manage that section. When you make changes that reload the page, you'll stay on the same tab you were working in.

Common Tasks

How to Edit a User's Profile

This is where you update the information shown on their public profile.

  1. Click the Profile tab
  2. Edit any of the following fields:
  • Display Name - The name shown on the site (doesn't have to be their real name)
  • First Name and Last Name - Their actual name (optional)
  • Gender - Choose from the dropdown or leave blank
  • Website - Their personal website or social media link
  • Bio - A description that appears on their profile
  • Location - Country, city, state, and postal code
  • Timezone - Choose their timezone for accurate timestamps
  • Language - Which language they prefer to see the site in
  1. Click Save Profile Changes
Tip: If you're editing a brand new user who hasn't filled out their profile yet, the system will automatically create a profile record for them when you save.

How to Change a User's Account Status

Account status controls whether they can access your site at all.

  1. In the User Header at the top, click Change Status
  2. Select the new status from the dropdown:
  • Active - Normal access (most users should be this)
  • Suspended - Temporarily blocked from logging in (use for rule violations)
  • Banned - Permanently blocked (use for serious violations)
  • Pending - Account waiting for activation (rarely used manually)
  • Deleted - Account marked as deleted
  1. Type a reason for the change (required) - this helps you track why decisions were made
  2. Click Update Status

The status change takes effect immediately, though they may stay logged in on devices until you revoke their sessions.

Warning: Changing status to Suspended, Banned, or Deleted blocks their access, but doesn't automatically log them out. To force immediate logout, go to the Sessions tab and revoke their active sessions.

How to Change a User's Account Type

Account type determines what features they can access (free features vs premium features).

  1. In the User Header, click Change Account Type
  2. Select the new type:
  • Free - Basic access
  • Premium - Paid subscriber access
  • VIP - Special elevated access
  • Moderator - Can moderate content
  • Admin - Full administrative access
  1. Click Update Account Type
Warning: Be very careful assigning Admin or Moderator types - these give users access to the admin panel!

How to Verify a User's Identity

Users who want to become creators or upload content need to verify their identity. Here's how to review and approve them:

  1. Click the Verification tab
  2. Scroll down to Verification Documents
  3. Review each uploaded document (government ID, selfie, proof of address, etc.)
  • Click on images to see them full-size
  • For PDFs, click View Document to open them
  1. For each document, click Approve or Reject
  • If rejecting, you can add notes explaining why
  1. Review the Legal Identity Information section to see the name and address they provided
  2. Once you've reviewed all documents, scroll to the Admin Actions card at the bottom
  3. Click Approve Verification or Reject Verification
  • If rejecting, you must provide a reason
Tip: Take your time reviewing identity documents. Make sure the name on the ID matches the name they provided, the photo looks legitimate, and all documents are clear and readable.

How to Approve Upload Permission

Even after identity verification, users need separate permission to upload content to your site.

  1. Go to the Verification tab
  2. Scroll to the Admin Actions card at the bottom
  3. Click Approve Upload Permission or Deny Upload Permission
Note: If you approve a creator application (see next section), upload permission is granted automatically. You don't need to do it separately.

How to Manage Creator Applications

When users apply to become creators (to monetize their content), you'll review and approve or reject their applications here.

To approve a pending creator application:

  1. Go to the Verification tab
  2. Find the Creator Profile card
  3. Review their information:
  • Creator username
  • Subscription price they want to charge
  • Bio and other details
  1. Click Approve Application
  2. Confirm the approval
Success: When you approve a creator application, the user automatically gets upload permission too. They can start creating content right away.

To reject a creator application:

  1. Click Reject Application
  2. Enter a reason (required) - the user will see this
  3. Click Reject Application in the modal

If a user doesn't have a creator profile yet:

You can enable one for them:

  1. Click Enable Creator Profile
  2. Fill in the form:
  • Creator Username - Unique identifier (lowercase letters, numbers, underscores only)
  • Creator Name - Display name (optional)
  • Subscription Price - How many tokens per month for a subscription
  • Bio - Short description
  1. Save

How to Suspend or Unsuspend a Creator

If a creator violates your rules, you can suspend their creator account without deleting it.

To suspend an active creator:

  1. Go to the Verification tab
  2. In the Creator Profile card, click Suspend Creator
  3. Enter a suspension reason (required)
  4. Click Suspend Creator

Their creator profile will be hidden from public view, but their account still exists.

To unsuspend a creator:

  1. Click Unsuspend Creator
  2. Confirm the action

How to Control Features for One User

Sometimes you need to give a specific user access to a feature that's normally restricted, or block them from using something. Feature overrides let you do this.

  1. Go to the Features tab
  2. You'll see all available features grouped by category
  3. To enable a specific feature for this user:
  • Find the feature in the list
  • Click Add Override next to it
  • The page reloads and the feature is now enabled
  • Use the toggle switch to turn it on or off
  1. To enable ALL features at once:
  • Click Enable All Feature Overrides at the top
  • Confirm the action
  • Wait while the system enables each feature
Warning: Feature overrides bypass all normal rules. If you enable a premium feature for a free user, they'll have access to it even though they didn't pay. Use this carefully and only for special situations.

How to Force Logout a User

If you suspect someone's account is compromised or being used from unauthorized locations, you can force them to log out.

  1. Go to the Sessions tab
  2. You'll see a list of all places they're currently logged in, showing:
  • Device type (phone, computer, etc.)
  • Browser
  • Location
  • IP address
  • When it expires
  1. Find suspicious sessions
  2. Click Revoke next to each one
  3. Confirm the action

The user will be immediately logged out of that device and will need to log in again.

Tip: If you see login sessions from multiple countries at the same time, that's a red flag for account sharing or hacking.

How to Reset Two-Factor Authentication

If a user loses access to their authenticator app, they'll be locked out of their account. You can reset their 2FA to let them back in.

  1. In the User Header, look for the red Reset 2FA button (only visible if they have 2FA enabled)
  2. Click it
  3. Confirm the action

Their 2FA will be completely removed. They'll need to set it up again from scratch in their account settings.

Warning: Only reset 2FA if the user genuinely lost access to their authenticator. Don't do it just because they asked - verify their identity first.

How to Update Email Preferences

Control what email notifications this user receives.

  1. Go to the Email Preferences tab
  2. Adjust the settings:
  • Commercial Emails - Marketing and promotional emails (Yes/No)
  • Newsletter - Newsletter subscription (Yes/No)
  • Email Language - What language to send emails in
  • Notification Frequency - For each type of notification (new subscribers, messages, comments, etc.), choose: Never, Instant, Daily, or Weekly
  1. Click Save Email Preferences

How to Update Privacy Settings

Control what other users can see about this person.

  1. Go to the Privacy tab
  2. You'll see two sections:

General Privacy Settings:

  • Who can see their watch history, favorites, subscriptions, etc.
  • Who can see when they're online
  • Whether they can browse anonymously
  • Who can write on their stream

Profile Privacy Settings:

  • Who can view their profile page
  • Whether anonymous visitors can see it
  • What sections to show/hide (email, social links, activity, favorites, playlists)

  1. Adjust the settings as needed
  2. Click Save Privacy Settings for the first section
  3. Click Save Profile Privacy Settings for the second section

This page doesn't have filters or search - it displays information for one specific user. Use the main User Management page to search for users.

View Modes

This page has a single fixed layout. The tabs let you switch between different sections of information.

Tips for New Users

Tip:
  • Start with the Profile tab to get a feel for how editing works
  • Check Login History regularly for new users to catch suspicious activity early
  • Always provide reasons when suspending, banning, or rejecting users - it helps you remember why you made that decision months later
  • Review all verification documents carefully - accepting fake IDs can get your site in legal trouble
  • Use feature overrides sparingly - they make it hard to keep track of who has access to what
  • Check the Admin Logs tab if you're confused about changes - it shows who did what and when

Troubleshooting

Changes don't save

What you see: You click Save but nothing happens, or you get an error message.

How to fix it:

  1. Check that you're connected to the internet
  2. Refresh the page completely (Ctrl+F5 or Cmd+Shift+R)
  3. Try the action again
  4. If it still fails, check if your admin session expired - you may need to log in again

User's information is blank or missing

What you see: The profile tab or other sections show empty fields or "No information available."

How to fix it:

  1. This is normal for new users who haven't filled out their profile yet
  2. When you save changes, the system will automatically create the missing profile record
  3. Simply fill in the fields you want and click Save

Tabs won't switch

What you see: Clicking on tabs does nothing, or the page seems stuck on one tab.

How to fix it:

  1. Make sure JavaScript is enabled in your browser
  2. Hard refresh the page (Ctrl+F5)
  3. Clear your browser cache
  4. Try a different browser
  5. Check the browser console (F12) for error messages

Verification documents won't display

What you see: Document images show as broken or won't load.

How to fix it:

  1. Make sure the files were uploaded correctly
  2. Try clicking "View Document" to open in a new tab
  3. Check your internet connection
  4. Refresh the page
  5. If images consistently won't load, the file may be corrupted - ask the user to re-upload

Action buttons are grayed out

What you see: Buttons like "Approve Verification" are disabled or don't appear.

How to fix it:

  • Buttons are context-aware and only show when relevant:
  • Approve Verification won't show if the user is already verified
  • Reject Application won't show if there's no pending application
  • Reset 2FA only appears if the user has 2FA enabled
  • If a button should be there but isn't, refresh the page
