CSV Import

What This Page Does

This page lets you bulk import videos from CSV, TSV, or TXT files. Many traffic partners and content networks provide their video catalogs as downloadable data files. The CSV import tool reads these files, extracts video information, checks for duplicates, and adds new videos to your library in one batch operation.

Navigate to Admin Panel > Grabber > CSV Import

You can also reach this page from the navigation bar at the top of any grabber page by clicking CSV.

Understanding the Page

The CSV import process works in two steps:

  1. Preview -- Upload or paste your data and see a preview of the first 10 rows to make sure everything looks correct.
  2. Import -- Run the full import to add all videos to your library.

Upload Methods

You have three ways to provide your CSV data:

Method When to Use It
File Upload Browse your computer and select a CSV, TSV, or TXT file
Paste Data Copy and paste CSV data directly into a text box
Re-use Previous File Select a file you uploaded in a previous session

Form Options

Before importing, you configure three settings:

Option What It Does
Provider / Format Select which traffic partner format your file uses (this tells the system how to read the data)
Category Optionally assign all imported videos to a specific category
Post Status Whether imported videos should be Active, Pending, or Draft

Supported Providers

The CSV import tool understands data files from these providers:

Provider Description
Pornhub.com Pornhub's specific export format
Xvideos.com XVideos data feed format
Nuvid.com Nuvid export format
Drtuber.com DrTuber export format
Magmaclick Magmaclick traffic network format
Tube.cash Tube.cash traffic network format
Generic CSV Standard comma-separated values
Generic Pipe-Delimited Fields separated by the pipe character ( )
Generic Semicolon-Delimited Fields separated by semicolons
Tip: If your traffic partner is not listed, try the Generic CSV format first. Most data files follow a standard comma-separated format. If that does not work, try pipe-delimited or semicolon-delimited depending on how the file is structured.

Common Tasks

How to Import a CSV File

  1. Choose your Upload Method:
    • Click Browse to select a file from your computer, or
    • Click the Paste Data tab and paste your CSV content into the text box, or
    • Select a previously uploaded file from the dropdown
  2. Select the correct Provider / Format from the dropdown.
  3. Optionally select a Category for all imported videos.
  4. Choose a Post Status (Pending is recommended for review).
  5. Click Preview to see the first 10 rows of your data.
  6. Review the preview to make sure the data looks correct -- titles, thumbnails, and durations should appear in the right columns.
  7. If the preview looks good, click Import to process the entire file.
  8. Wait for the import to finish. A summary shows how many videos were imported, skipped (duplicates), and failed.

Success: After a successful import, you will see a summary strip showing thumbnails and titles of the imported videos. You can click any video to review it in your video library.

How to Preview Before Importing

Previewing is strongly recommended before running a full import.

  1. Upload your file or paste your data.
  2. Select the correct provider format.
  3. Click Preview.
  4. Check the first 10 rows:
    • Are titles showing correctly?
    • Do thumbnails appear as expected?
    • Are durations reasonable?
    • Is the embed code or source address present?
  5. If something looks wrong, try a different Provider / Format and preview again.
Warning: If the preview shows garbled data, misaligned columns, or empty fields, you likely selected the wrong provider format. Try another format before importing.

How to Re-use a Previously Uploaded File

If you uploaded a file in a previous session and want to import it again (perhaps with different settings):

  1. Look for the Previously Uploaded Files section.
  2. Select the file from the dropdown.
  3. Adjust the provider format, category, or post status as needed.
  4. Click Preview or Import.

Import Results

After an import completes, you see a summary with three counts:

Count What It Means
Imported Videos successfully added to your library
Skipped Videos that already existed in your library (duplicates)
Failed Videos that could not be imported due to errors (missing required data, invalid format)
Note: The duplicate detection system checks embed codes, source web addresses, and title-plus-site combinations. If a video matches any of these, it is counted as a duplicate and skipped.

Tips for New Users

Tip:
  • Always preview first. The preview step shows you exactly how the system will interpret your data. It takes a few seconds and can save you from importing garbage data.
  • Use Pending status. Set imported videos to Pending so you can review them before they appear on your site.
  • Match the right provider. Each provider formats their data differently. Using the wrong format will produce bad results. If unsure, check the first few lines of your file to see what separator is used (commas, pipes, or semicolons).
  • Assign a category. All videos in a CSV import typically come from the same source, so assigning them all to one category helps keep things organized.
  • Check the history. After importing, visit the Grabber History page to see a detailed log of what was imported, skipped, and failed.

Troubleshooting

Preview shows garbled or misaligned data

What you see: Column headers do not match the data, or everything appears in one column.

How to fix it:

  1. You likely selected the wrong Provider / Format. Try a different one.
  2. Open the file in a text editor to check what character separates the fields (commas, pipes, semicolons, or tabs).
  3. If the file uses commas, try Generic CSV. If it uses pipes (|), try Generic Pipe-Delimited. For semicolons, try Generic Semicolon-Delimited.

 

Import shows all videos as "Skipped"

What you see: The import summary says all videos were skipped with zero imported.

How to fix it:

  1. These videos already exist in your library. The duplicate detection system found matching entries.
  2. If you believe the videos should not be duplicates, the source addresses or embed codes in your file may match existing entries that were imported previously.

 

Import shows many "Failed" entries

What you see: A large number of videos failed to import.

How to fix it:

  1. The most common cause is missing required data (no title, no embed code, or no source address) in certain rows of your file.
  2. Try previewing the file and checking whether the first 10 rows have complete data.
  3. The file may be partially corrupted. Ask your traffic partner for a fresh copy.

 

File upload fails

What you see: You try to upload a file but get an error.

How to fix it:

  1. Make sure the file is a CSV, TSV, or TXT file.
  2. Check that the file is not too large. Very large files may exceed upload limits.
  3. For very large files, try splitting them into smaller batches or pasting the data directly.

 

The page shows "Demo Mode"

What you see: An orange banner prevents changes.

How to fix it:
Contact your administrator to disable demo mode.
